Dean & Robert ticking off their fish list

Thank you for the most enjoyable trip I had recently.

Melville Lodge offers an unparalleled fishing experience, boasting breathtaking 270-degree views of Snake Bay and the Timor Sea.

Guests are accommodated in comfortable, air-conditioned cabins designed for one or two occupants, with access to a separate facilities block. The main building features spectacular views, inviting lounge and dining areas, and a fully licensed bar. Guests enjoy delicious meals prepared by a professional chef.

Under the expert management of Paul Talbot and Kanna Joos, the Lodge operates seamlessly and is impeccably maintained. The Lodge’s professional chef takes pride in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. An assortment of delightful snacks served in the late afternoon is a highlight.

Fishing at Melville Lodge is guided by a team of highly skilled professionals. My guide, Hayden Dews, has been leading fishing excursions here for three years, following a lifelong career in professional fishing. All guides share a similar level of expertise and dedication.

The Lodge is conveniently located just a two-minute drive from the boat launch ramp on the bay. Guests set out on 6.5-meter plate aluminuum boats, each powered by near-new 175 HP motors, ensuring swift and safe travel to even the most remote fishing spots.

With access to a variety of river systems, each offering unique characteristics, as well as stunning blue-water reef locations, the fishing opportunities are exceptional. However, weather conditions can sometimes be challenging.

On my most recent trip, I landed a magnificent 110 cm black jewfish in the blue water and successfully caught and released a 98 cm barramundi in the renowned Goose Creek.

Thank you for the most enjoyable trip I had recently.
